( G-Loomis Rods Fly Rods ) ( G-Loomis Spinning Rods )

Here is a list of the G-Loomis rods I am proud to carry on my boat.

   Spinning

   Greenwater

I have been using the G-Loomis Greenwater rods since Loomis first came out with this line. I have found them to be both durable and reliable. These rods are light enough to cast top water lures all day but still strong enough to handle a Tarpon.

Currently I use the when fishing the flats for redfish, snook, trout and tarpon:

Model number Length Line Weight Lure Weight
GWPR843S 7' 8 - 14 1/4 - 5/8
GWR9000S 7'6" 6 - 12 1/4 - 1/2
GWR901S 7'6" 10 - 20 1/4 - 1 1/4

GWR981S 8'2" 10 - 20 1/4 - 1 1/4
GWR941S GLX 7'10" 10 - 17 1/4 - 1

    Long casting rods

If you have fished with me in the past and I had my "cannons" on the boat you know that this rod can outcast all light tackle spinning rods on the market. My longest cast to date with a 3/4 oz top water plug is 100 yards. This rod is light enough to cast plugs and grubs and long enough to place a lure on a flat that fish don't even know you are on.

This is the rod I also use to catch pompano on with grubs in the surf.

   Tarpon

G-loomis has out done themselves with their new Pro Blue series. This rod is a cross between a casting rod and a groper stick. It is light enough to cast all day but strong enough to handle a 200 lb tarpon that wants to sound on you.

   Fly

There are a few Looms fly rod I carry on the boat from time to time but the ones I use most often are the G-Loomis Classic GL3's and Cross Current Pro's. I have found these rods to be a little more forgiving than other fly rods and still strong enough to handle big fish. These rods are also a great value. You can own a great rod without spending a lot of money.

Here are a few of the rods I use:
